Yesterday was my cousins wedding. I was happily enjoying the wedding function with my family. Suddenly one of my friend called me and said Dravid and Ganguly are dropped from the squad. It was very shocking for me and i was very much worried why they dropped dravid and ganguly.
Reason for Gangulys omission:
Niranjan Shah said - The emphasis was on fielding abilities and they [the team management] wanted a young fielding side for the series. Ganguly has managed 231 runs at 25.66 in nine innings.
This average for odi series was calculated before pakistan and aussie test series. Now he is the man in prime form with more than 75 (avg) in last 6 test matches with 2 hundred(one double hundred) and 4 fifties.
See yuvraj -he is struggling like anything against australian attack even the county of australia. In all 7 innings he played in australia he was walked out before reaching double digit but he is in the side.
In 2000-01 and 2003-04 we one only two odi against australia in VB series because Sachin, Ganguly,Laxman and Dravid. Dravid also regained his touch in australia.
Ganguly and dravid are well set in australia. Dropping them will affect them mentally against australia in the fourth test.
Laxman is a specialist against australia. This is not a right time to test youngster that to in australia. Definitly we will be struggle a lot against srilanka itself.
God only knows what the selectors are doing.
