Nerica - A Drought Resistant and High Yielding Rice

Dr. Monty Jones, a plant scientist from Sierra Leone, became the first African ever to win the prestigious World Food Prize at a ceremony in the US farming state of Iowa on 14 October. He was honoured for his breakthrough work in developing the New Rice for Africa (Nerica), a drought-resistant, high-yielding, protein-rich type of rice. Nerica has been embraced by the New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) as an example of the kind of innovative efforts that can help spur Africa's agricultural development and reduce hunger

Please read this and reply me about my view.

African People has now understand the importance of agriculture and they are developing such a good quality hybrid rice, Why not Indians can develop such a high quality rice with all our technology far more better than the Africans. We should encourage the agriculture and farming also. I am not telling that all of them should set our foot in the soil for farming. But we should not humiliate farmers and they should be given the facilities that all we enjoy.

So i want our government to do the following thing. They should buy all the fertile lands and appoint farmers as government workers. So that the farmers can get a government job and they can overcome their difficulties they are currently facing now. They can also enjoy all the facilities as of all government servant by getting pension, bonus and etc etc..
